Really pleased to have had one of my mono screenprints selected for this exhibition at the Open Gallery in Halifax.

My print is called ‘Magnolia Stellata’ and is a three layer screenprint based on a photograph I took of this small shrub in flower in my own garden in 2023.

I’m keen to experiment more with this process (inspired by Andy Wharhol’s flower screenprints) and plan to work on an image of a small native wildflower called ‘Geum Rivale’ (Water Avens) which I came across on a bike ride to Greenhow Hill. It was also a key inspiration for much of my work on my MA.
