As part of a global satellite event of the upcoming 8th Biennale NOA in Pont de Claix France, artists have been invited to participate in a mail art exhibition to be held in Istanbul during October 2025. The theme is non-objetcive art and all works must be postcard sized, 6″x4″. Artworks will be exhibited as short-term (1 week each) traveling exhibitions at various galleries / art venues in Istanbul.
So, I made a 6″x4″ window in a piece of A4 paper and set about extracting images from some of my screen-prints. The ones that seemed to work best, providing the most abstract or non-objective images, were those from my series of flagstone prints, variously called What remains and Rombalds Stride and other stories.
The image at the top of this post is now on its way to Istanbul, but I think any of the seven I made could have worked. In fact, I’m still drawn to the simplest one, the white ‘hyphen’ with the block green background.
